Nigeria is known for its linguistic diversity, with over 500 indigenous languages spoken throughout the country. The most widely spoken languages in Nigeria are Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, and English. Hausa is predominantly spoken in the northern part of the country, and is the second most spoken language in Africa after Arabic. Yoruba is spoken in the southwestern part of the country, while Igbo is predominantly spoken in the southeastern part.

 

Climate

Nigeria experiences tropical weather with distinct wet and dry periods. The wet season is from April to October in the south and May to September in the north, marked by high humidity and heavy coastal rainfall. Dry spells prevail from November to March in the north and December to February in the south.

These starchy swallows are made from yam, cassava, or gari, respectively and used to scoop up the soup when eating.
